Summer Skincare-image

It’s important to take care of your skin during the summer months. Take care of the layer of your body that protects you from infection and more! In this week’s Canyon Park Apartments Blog, we’ve got a few suggestions for how to take care of your skin this summer! Don’t let the summer here in Puyallup, WA ruin your skin!   Hydrate Have you ever had dry and cracking skin? One way to avoid that is by hydrating! Your body needs water to function properly, so do yourself a favor and drink enough water! Your skin is an organ, so proper hydration can help your skin to function the way it’s supposed to. Imagine your body like a container of water, through the day you lose water and you need to replenish it to keep the container topped up. As you hydrate, your skin will visibly show that it’s hydrated, moving from dry, tight, and flaky, to more pliable, moisturized skin.      Sunscreen When the sun is out, it’s probably a good idea to put on some sunscreen, even if you don’t intend on being in the sun for very long. Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV rays, lowers your risk of skin cancer, and prevents premature aging. Sunscreen also helps you to prevent the red, painful consequences of being sunburnt!   Exfoliate Exfoliating can be a difficult thing to do consistently, but it can have some positive effects on your complexion. Exfoliating is known to slow down the ageing process, even out your skin tone, improve your skin’s texture, and cleanse the build-up of dead skin cells. The harsh weather of summer can be detrimental to your skin’s health, so it’s important to do everything we can to keep it healthy. It may seem unnecessary, but exfoliation can help you feel more confident and even look younger during the summer!
