Decorating Your Apartment-image

Last month we shared with you how you can clean your apartment. We know that a clean apartment can inspire you to make other changes to your Puyallup, WA apartment, so we’re going to share with you some suggestion on ways you can decorate your newly cleaned apartment in this week’s Canyon Park Apartments Blog. Minimalism A clean house with things put in their right and proper place can still feel cluttered. But why? Though things may be clean, you may still have a large collection of things in your home. Minimalism is a good decorating idea if you still feel cluttered even after cleaning. What is minimalism? It focuses on removing any excess that can cause stress, base colors, and quality pieces. Choose carefully which pieces of furniture you wish to keep and invest in furniture that can double as storage (to keep clutter stored away). With a minimalist home, you can focus on the things that truly matter! Hygge This type of home decoration has been gaining steam alongside minimalism and focuses heavily on a cozy feeling in your home. Hygge, pronounced hoo-gah, can involve aspects like hot chocolate, thick socks, and more, but in a home decoration sense, it would require you to stick to a neutral color scheme, diversify your home with textures, and focus on an overall sense of comfort. Blankets, pillows, and a fire are all good options for generating a cozy atmosphere. Themed   Having a theme can give your home a personal touch and added flavor to your decoration. There are many themes that can showcase your personality! Whether you’re looking for a more elegantly decorated home or something that shows off your love for comics or science fiction, there are ways to decorate that can make your home look great and shine with your personality.

Tips for the Sauna/Spa-image

Every so often, it’s okay to pamper yourself. Do so by heading down to our Puyallup, WA apartment community sauna and spa and enjoying a day of relaxation. In this week’s Canyon Park Apartments Blog, we’ve got a few tips for you on how you can make full use of the sauna and spa available to residents. Dress Appropriately This may seem like a no-brainer, but dressing appropriately can help you have a better experience at the sauna and spa. Wear a swimsuit into the sauna so you can prepare yourself to sweat. Appropriate attire can help you be fully immersed in introspection and relaxation. Be aware of the spa rules on dress code and stick to that for yours and other residents’ sake.   Shower Taking a shower removes any chemicals and particles from the surface of your skin that would hinder the experience. Take a shower and get all the makeup, perfumes, dirt, and oils off your body before heading into the sauna. Doing so will help you to de-stress and focus on the experience you’ll have in the heat! Cool Down/Rest After you’ve sat in the sauna for a good chunk of time, remember that the heat can have adverse effects on your body if you’re not careful. Your body will be sweating and your heart will be pounding from the heat so be aware of your body before you faint! Avoid harmful side effects by taking a break from the sauna and cool off by taking a cool shower. If you imagine time in the sauna as an exercise (since your body exhibits the same effects), you’re going to need time to cool down to bring your pulse down.   Do you enjoy the sauna and spa? Let us know of any tips you’ve got by leaving a comment below!

Sports to Play this Summer-image

Although staying in and enjoying a break from the sunshine is necessary at times, getting out and playing some sports can give your summer some vitality and fun! In this week’s Canyon Park Apartments Blog, we’ve got a short list of sports that you can play this summer! It’s time to get out of your Puyallup, WA apartment to get some fresh air and exercise!   Spikeball From the Spikeball website: “Lovingly known as “the trampoline ball game,” or “if volleyball and foursquare had a baby,” the sport of roundnet is played 2 vs 2. A player starts a point by serving the ball down onto the Spikeball net so it ricochets up at his opponents. They have up to 3 hits between them (think bump, set, spike) to control the ball and bounce it back off the net. When they miss, you score. First team to 21 wins.”   Tennis There are many outdoor courts all over Puyallup that you can head to and enjoy a game of tennis! You only need two players to play a full game, but you can play doubles as well! Score points against your opponent by hitting the ball onto your opponent’s side of the net, within the margins of the court in a way that they can’t return the ball. You’ll need two rackets, a ball, and you’re good to go!   Soccer A game for everyone, soccer is a fun way to spend a summer morning, afternoon, or evening! Whether you’re playing with one other person or with a group, soccer can be hours of fun. All you need is a ball and people to play! The goal of soccer is to kick the ball into the goal to score points for your team. One of the greatest things about soccer is the ability to play it anywhere, whether it’s on a field, indoors, or even on an outdoor basketball court! With this kind of flexibility, it makes it one of the best go-to options for sports to play during the summer!   What are your favorite sports to play during the summertime? Let us know by leaving a comment on this post.

Clean your Apartment-image

Have you ever arrived home to a messy apartment? How did it make you feel? Cleaning your apartment is a good way to help relieve stress and get your apartment organized. In this week’s Canyon Park Apartments Blog, we’ve got some great suggestions and tips on cleaning your Puyallup, WA apartment!   Take your Time For some, cleaning their apartment can take a while, especially if they haven’t done it for a long time. Pacing yourself is an important part of finishing the job. You don’t want to burn yourself out before you finish cleaning. If you’re busy, take the time each day to do some cleaning, by the end of the week you could have everything cleaned!   Declutter It’s natural to have clutter. Lives are busy and sometimes things get left unattended. Having a cleaner home can just be a matter of removing all of the clutter that fills the space and looks unsightly. Take the time to walk through your home and identify items and clothes that you don’t use anymore and place them aside for removal or donation. If you have appliances that still work, but are unused, donate them to thrift stores to give them new life.     Clean the Hard to Reach Spots One of the easiest things to do is to stop when your apartment looks clean. Get the satisfaction of a truly clean house by getting down and dirty into those hard to reach spots. Move any necessary furniture or appliances to access the nooks and crannies. Get the proper equipment and cleaning supplies to make your life easier. Keep in mind that these hard to reach spots are likely to have not been cleaned in a while, so be prepared to put some elbow grease into it!   A clean apartment can be less stressful and be a sight for sore eyes when you come home from a long day at work.
