Along the way, they will reconnect with former comrades Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller), Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), and Kmart (Spencer Locke). Their epic battle will lead them back to where it all began in the dark mansion built by Umbrella founder Lord Ozwell E. Making Resolutions That Stick-image

The New Year is the perfect new beginning — a time to start over and try to be better. Whether your goals are to travel more, lose weight, or read more, sticking to your goals is sometimes difficult. Stephen Covey says, “The key is taking responsibility and initiative, deciding what your life is about and prioritizing your life around the most important things.” We think this a great inspirational quote when focusing on goals!   Life Hack gives some insight on this topic as well. They give a list of seven things you can do when setting and keeping goals. These include focusing on just one area you want to change, planning ahead, accepting (some) failures, and planning rewards for yourself.   When setting your goals or choosing resolutions, pick an area you would like to see progress or success in. Think back on what you struggled with most the last year. This could be budgeting, cooking more nutritious meals, or spending less time on your phone. Choose something that is easily measured. Once you’ve chosen this thing, identify WHY this is what you’ve picked. Do you want to be more present? Make more memories? Save money? Defining a clear “why” behind your goals will give you the motivation to achieve them.   While working on your goals, find a system for keeping score or keeping track of your progress. This will hold you accountable and you’ll be able to see just where you’re at.   Give yourself small rewards along the way. If you’re budgeting, allow yourself a treat when you’ve saved a certain amount. If you’re losing weight, maybe purchase a new water bottle or workout shoes. Find something that will keep you motivated but not throw you off course!   Of course, be realistic about your resolutions. It might be useful to have a friend or family member help you along your journey! Even if you don’t attain your goal, the most important part is trying to improve and be a little better each day.   Good luck with your goals and thanks for reading Canyon Park Blog! Movie Night-image

A movie night is a great activity for those chilly winter nights. After a long day of work or school, relax in the comfort of your own home with a yummy treat and a fun flick!   March of the Penguins is always a good choice. What’s better than watching those cute little tuxedoed creatures on vast expanses of ice and snow? National Geographic says, “Experience a journey like no other on the planet—one that spans hundreds of miles across a frozen continent. Braving icy winds, freezing temperatures and starvation, this is the incredible true story of a family's quest to bring new life into the world.”   For something chilling in more ways than one, Misery is perfect for those in search of something thrilling! Stephen King sets several of his novels and stories during winter.Stephen King uses a desolate setting to play on people’s fears of isolation and loneliness. We see this film use winter as a metaphor for the loneliness felt by the main character in the movie. Katy Bates makes the perfect villain in this 1990 film.   Disney’s Frozen brings the land of ice and magic to life! This fun and friendly film makes a wintery wonderland look not only appealing but fun to live in! The film that made “Let it Go” famous is great for all ages on your movie night.   An all time favorite is Elf ! We would watch this movie at any age, no matter the time of year. The premise of this movie is basically an Elf from the North Pole transplanted into the hustle and bustle of New York City! This hilarious adventure follows Buddy from Central Park to the Empire State building. Watch Buddy the Elf eat all his favorite food groups (mostly sugar and candy) and even fall in love!   A perfect treat to pair with these movies is this peppermint popcorn from Cooking Classy! We hope you enjoy these classic-cool movies. Catch a movie at your local theater in Puyallup, WA if the movies we picked aren’t quite your taste. Thanks for reading Canyon Park blog!

During the holidays, adding travel to your list of things you need to do can be a little stressful! You’ve got decorating and shopping and celebrating and cooking, packing is just one extra chore you’ve got to get done. At Canyon Park Apartments, we are all about those little time-saving tips to help your trip go even smoother. Our favorite tip for holiday travel is packing light. If you can, packing everything in a carry-on means you don’t have to check a bag, which translates to standing in fewer lines in a busy airport. We found some great tips from Primer on how to pack in a carry-on. Primer mentions that the biggest mistake made by infrequent travelers is a lack of planning beforehand. This infographic has some additional tips that can be helpful for traveling no matter what time of year you’re headed out of Puyallup.   Being able to plan beforehand gives you extra time and energy to put into your actual trip and time with loved ones. As you travel more and more you will learn what works for you and what is necessary for a successful trip. In order to stay energized during your trip, eating healthy and easy snacks will provide the nutrition you need. Items like granola bars, beef jerky, dried fruit, and roasted nuts make great in-air snacks. Be careful of overly salty foods because being in the air can dehydrate you. Indulging in treats or junk food may seem appealing but you might regret it while sitting on a long flight without something substantial in your stomach.   For those more technologically inclined, we found a great list from Popsugar with tech hacks for your trip. These tips will help you keep your devices charged, and save time and money. While traveling, be responsible and safe. Focusing on your flight is definitely your number one priority. You don’t want to miss your flight and delay your holiday vacation. Good luck and safe travels!
