Host a Game Night at Your Apartment-image

Game nights are a great excuse to invite neighbors over or to get together with old friends. Have a game night at your Canyon Park Apartment this month. Play some of these games we’re highlighting in today's blog. Enjoy your month here in Puyallup, WA!   Electronic Catch Phrase Catch Phrase is a fun and quick game that everyone can enjoy. Split up into two teams and take turns describing the word that comes onto the screen of the catchphrase disk. Pass the game on, but don’t get caught holding it when the timer runs out.   Spoons Spoons is an interactive, quick, competitive game. The goal of the game is to get four cards of a kind using face cards. Each player holds four cards in their hand and they then pass one card they want to discard to the player on their left. When one player gets four of a kind, they grab one spoon that is laid out in the center of the table. Everyone can then grab a spoon regardless of their hand. There will be one less spoon than there are people playing. If you’re too slow and don’t get a spoon, you’re out. The game continues until there’s one winner. Click on the link above for more information about this game and detailed instructions.   Never Have I Ever This is a great way to break the ice between people who don’t know each other. Everyone will sit in a circle and hold up ten fingers. Each person then takes turns completing the “never have I ever” sentence with something they haven’t done. Whoever has done that thing must put down a finger. Whoever is the last person to have a finger up at the end wins!   Scrabble Scrabble is a fun board game that’s easy to learn and fun to play. Here’s a quick strategy to help you out: early on in the game, you’ll want to try to play big words, but getting rid of those last few tiles can sometimes make all the difference late in the game. Check out these two-letter words for the end of the game. If you can memorize these, it will come in handy later on.   What are your favorite games to play with friends? Share them with us below so we can check them out!

Clean Out Your Car-image

Every car needs a little attention every once in awhile. Some people are great with upkeep of their cars, while the rest of us may need some help — or at least some suggestions for tips and tricks for making it shine! In today’s Canyon Park Apartments Blog we’ll be sharing some tips on how to keep your car looking great.   Throw away trash and vacuum. The first step when cleaning out your car is to throw away trash. Get rid of other items that shouldn’t be in there as well, including jackets, books, shoes, snacks, or other items that you haven’t taken inside your apartment yet. Take time to then vacuum off the seats and floors. Make sure to get into all the crevices of the vehicle, including between and under the seats and in other small compartments.   Use a toothbrush or small brush for dirt and spills. Arm rests, cup holders, and seats can get very dirty. Wipe off all surfaces with a warm, soapy washcloth then use a toothbrush to scrub up extra dirty areas. A magic eraser is a great tool as well for those dirty areas that aren’t coming up with a toothbrush.   Dust off surfaces with a coffee filter. After the surfaces are wiped clean, dust may still be lurking from the cloth or from dust in the air. Use a coffee filter to wipe up that dust. According to The Krazy Coupon Lady , “Coffee filters are made of a lint-free paper that is perfect for dusting!”   Use compressed air for dusting. For the areas that you can’t reach that still need dusting, use a can of compressed air. It will work great for vents and small crevices around buttons.   Wipe off grime on headlights with toothpaste. Toothpaste is a mild abrasive cleaner that works well to make your headlights shine again. Use a cloth to rub the toothpaste around, then wipe it clean.   Check out more great car cleaning hacks in BuzzFeed’s article, “ 23 Ways To Make Your Car Cleaner Than It’s Ever Been .” Do you have any car cleaning tips?
