Inexpensive Entertainment by your Puyallup, WA, apartment
This time of year, when it gets cold and the leaves fall I cant help but get a little sentimental for summertime. I start to miss seeing lush green vegetation all over the place. I miss being able to go outside (without freezing) and breathing in freshly oxygenated air being produced by the trees. If I let it get to me too much I have to get out of the house and closer to nature in order to preserve my sanity. Luckily the W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory is open year round so I can get my fix of fresh air.
The W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory is the unique looking glass building tucked away in Wright Park Arboretum. This unique looking structure has been a Tacoma landmark for over 100 years and is a great place to get out and relax. Im not making that up either. The Conservatory was voted the Best Place to Relax in Tacoma by Tacoma Weekly readers in 2008.
The conservatorys seasonal displays provide for unique experiences year round. The fact that admission costs less than the latte youll pick up on the way there is a huge plus as well. And its just 20 minutes from your Puyallup, WA, apartment so its easy to get out there and explore.
The conservatory doesnt just have plant exhibits, either. They host live music on the second Sunday of every month from 1-2:30 PM. Kayla Stewart did an incredible job a few weeks ago and Flock of Geezers, a local folk/bluegrass/country rock group, will be playing December 8. What more could you want on a Sunday afternoon?
It can be cold at the conservatory this time of year but when you finish up there you can come back to Canyon Park and curl up by the fireplace in your apartment in Puyallup, WA. Sip some chamomile tea while you thaw your bones and long for the warmth of summer.
