Welcome to 2020! This week, Canyon Park Blog is featuring a few fun New Year’s Resolutions. Setting resolutions, or goals, is a time-honored tradition for the new year; we hope that our suggestions help you set some resolutions this year — or at least spark your imagination about goals you want to complete this year.
Procrastinate Less
Many people have a problem with procrastination, putting things off until the last minute and then rushing for the deadline. Make a conscious effort this year to complete your projects long before they are due. Schedule out your projects ahead of time and assign yourself smaller due dates before the final due date. Reward yourself every time you hit a deadline. Getting your work done ahead of time is a little more pleasant if you have something to look forward to along the way.
Say “Thanks”
Thanksgiving is over, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop being grateful. Express your gratitude to others through personal notes, emails, and other sincere expressions of thanks. Saying “thank you” can help you make new friends, improve existing relationships, and feel happier in your daily life.
Travel
Make an effort to get out of Puyallup sometime next year. You don’t have to travel far or go out of the country for your trip; just rent a room out of town for the weekend, explore a historical site in Washington, or visit a nearby National Park. There are plenty of places right here in Washington to visit. To start, find out all the sites you can explore in your own backyard!
Start a Journal
Journal writing is a great way to take stock of your life, preserve your memories, and help you become a happier, healthier person. Write every day, every week, or every month. Just remember to update your journal regularly.
Take Your Time
Life moves at a quick pace. It can be easy to get caught up in your responsibilities. Take some time to breathe this year. Instead of stressing about getting the next million things you have to do done, prioritize your to-do list and make some time for rest and relaxation.
We hope that you have a great New Year’s, no matter how or where you’re celebrating in Puyallup, WA! What are your goals? Feel free to share in the comments so our apartment community can cheer you on! Thanks for reading.
